Kadishub DKI Resmikan Pangakalan Ojol di Terminal Terpadu Pulo Gebang

New Dedicated Ojol Base Officially Inaugurated at Pulo Gebang Terminal

Providing a better space for taxi online (Ojol) drivers, Jakarta Transportation Agency Head Budi Awaluddin launched a dedicated pick-up point at Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal.

This means a lot to us, and we are deeply thankful

To celebrate the opening, the agency handed over essential food supplies, eco-friendly tumblers, and ready-to-eat meals to 30 local drivers as a token of appreciation for their service.

Budi commended the terminal management’s initiative in providing dedicated facilities for ojol drivers. The base is integral to enhancing public service while ensuring a more organized terminal environment.

Dishub and Ojol Communities Partner to Ensure Traffic Order

"Previously, they (ojol) waited for passengers on the roadsides in front of the terminal. Now, they have a comfortable designated spot, ensuring they no longer occupy restricted road areas in violation of regulations," he expressed, Friday (7/3).

He explained that the Ojol base is equipped with tables, chairs, mobile charging stations, and water dispensers. This facility is expected to serve as a model for other terminals across Jakarta in organizing waiting areas for ride-hailing drivers.

"By providing this space, we are effectively clearing sidewalks and road shoulders of parked vehicles that typically cause traffic bottlenecks," he added.

Pulo Gebang Terminal Unit Head, Cristianto added that providing the Ojol base is a strategic move to elevate terminal service quality. Previously, drivers gathering around entrance points had created a disorganized and cluttered appearance.

"This facility can accommodate around 30 drivers and their motorcycles. It operates 24/7, keeping pace with the around-the-clock demand for ride-hailing services at the terminal," he noted.

Adding to the convenience, they can now enter and exit the terminal free of charge, with parking fees completely waived.

Meanwhile, Leni (45), an Ojol driver, warmly welcomed the new facility, noting that for years, she and her colleagues had been forced to wait for passengers on the roadside or near the Pulo Gebang toll gate without any shelter.

"We used to be completely exposed to the elements—heat and rain alike—with nowhere to take cover. Now, we finally have a dedicated space to rest and recharge between trips. This means a lot to us, and we are deeply thankful," she admitted.
